Goodbye Hillary

After an eternity of campaigning Hillary Clinton finally ended her run for the presidency by endorsing Barack Obama at the Democrat Convention last night in Denver.

Thank Heaven.

Even as I write, MSNBC is working to keep the dream alive... that Hillary will somehow make a comeback and steal the nomination from Mr. Obama. Even if it does fill a gap in the 24 hour news cycle - it's not going to happen.

Thank Heaven.

I would give anything to see Bill and Hillary Clinton driven into a small dark corner of our nation’s political process. Even four years of an Obama Presidency might (I say might) be worth it to me if “presto” the Clintons could just disappear. By the way – that includes Chelsea too, who will be the next family member who asserts a “right” to the spotlight. Who’s next? Roger Clinton? Tony Rodham?

It will be a tough four years, but it may be the wake-up call conservatives need to get off their butts. It won’t take four years for Obama’s positions to be exposed for the failures that they are and the failures that they will bring. No amount of false hope brings change.

Back to Hillary – I see no goodness in the woman. How ugly an analysis – I question my compassion and humanity by making such a judgment.

Thank Heaven.

Let 18 Year Olds Legally Drink

If you’ve ever been 17 and tried to get a total stranger to buy you a case of beer for ten bucks, you know how easy it is to partake in underage drinking.

I smile when I think about it. I grimace when I think of my own children trying it and I could easily begin to sob thinking about the stupid things I did under the influence of alcohol, and all of the people I could have harmed while doing so...

However, making young adults wait unit they are 21 to drink does not stop them from drinking. It may stop them from purchasing alcoholic beverages – but not from consuming them. As long as Budweiser, Jack Daniels and all of their competitors flood the airways with positive impressions of drinking – young people will want to drink.

The argument that an 18 year old can choose our president and can be blown apart by an IED, but cannot buy a beer never made sense to me when I was 18 and in the military - and it still doesn't pass the smell test today.

If we want to reduce underage drinking and curb alcohol abuse we need to change our values. Show a man from outer space the same number of commercials young people in this country view on a weekly basis for alcoholic beverages, and within a month, the alien will be buying beer and getting a prescription for Viagra.

True change comes from education - not legislation. Lower the drinking age and stop making criminals out of young adults.

Dem Destruction

The dems are as transparent as Saran Wrap and it just takes one good head to head match up to show the world they are bigots, dishonest and disingenuous. Charges they make towards conservative republicans on a regular basis.

The topic of race and racial tension has been heating up with Clinton v. Obama. Bill Clinton compared Obama to Jessie Jackson (another black guy who won the South Carolina primary but it didn't mean a thing.) Obama supports a racist pastor who rails against the white community and this great country.

The ease at which the Clinton's lie is documented on video for everyone to see. From Bill Clinton acting like he didn't know Monica's first name to Hillary recently describing how she was under attack on trip to Bosnia as first lady.

Watch both of these characters closely... they seem so sincere. Remember this - sincerity is no test of truth.

The evidence of this charge is clear and easy to understand - neither Clinton or Obama want to live the life they preach to others. Take the hot topics of abortion on demand, gun rights, global warming and immigration.

Abortion - Do you think Bill and Hillary Clinton would advise their daughter to have an abortion if she became pregnant by her boyfriend? Maybe this is a bad example...

Barrack and Michele - would they advise one of their daughters later on in life that she should seek an abortion if she were to become pregnant? I doubt it. They are experienced enough to know that the scars of making such a decision run deep and last for years. Barrack will court Planned Parenthood and tow the party line of pro abortion, but he knows it's not right.

Gun rights - Both Hillary and Barrack want to limit your gun rights while at the same time enjoy 24 security from ARMED United States Secret Service Agents. Hillary Clinton has had armed guards within shouting distance since 1992. That's a nice perk and only has value because the agents are ARMED. You and I have to live by strict federal and state rules and are subject to arrest if we make the wrong move with a firearm, in the way we use it, or the way we secure it.

Global Warming - These two candidates are burning fossil fuel in the form of JET-A as fast as some small airlines! In Clinton's case she has her husband and daughter out flying around too. So much for conservation. How many homes do the Clinton's have? Do they buy carbon credits?

America better start conserving energy even though these two candidates burn the candle at both ends.

Immigration - We need to be compassionate to illegal aliens who have entered this country in a fraudulent manner because they are simply looking to make a living. We need to make them all legal all now. Yet neither candidate would employ an illegal alien because they know if would destroy their candidacy. If illegal aliens were crossing their property and trashing their land (like they do Arizona ranchers), they would have the Boarder Patrol on speed dial. Call in the Apache's and Hummers now!

These two people (along with Bill Clinton) are showing us what democrats are all about. Let's see who the last man or woman is standing... because the other one is going to be dead.

New York Times v. John McCain

How can the New York Times endorse John McCain as the Republican nominee for president one month and print the article that it did Thursday the next?

On January 25, 2008 the Times ran this endorsement:

"Senator John McCain of Arizona is the only Republican who promises to end the George Bush style of governing from and on behalf of a small, angry fringe. With a record of working across the aisle to develop sound bipartisan legislation, he would offer a choice to a broader range of Americans than the rest of the Republican field."

Okay... if the New York Times wants to endorse a candidate that's their call, but then they follow up with this first paragraph in Thursday's front-page lead story.

"A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, visiting his offices and accompanying him on a client’s corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself — instructing staff members to block the woman’s access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity."

It has been revealed that the sources and the details of the story that ran on Thursday were in possession of the paper at the time they endorsed McCain. Does that make any sense? What is the logic behind the Time's endorsement knowing that it had damaging information regarding the candidate?

"I Inhaled. That was the Point."

This guy may be the most direct individual to come out of Washington DC in quite some time...

Listen up democrats. Your choice is clear. Barrack Obama is the fix for all the negativity and hate in your party. The right move now is to drive Hillary and Bill Clinton into a small corner.

For republicans - take note. Mr. Obama is a straight shooter and he will do EXACTLY what he says he's going to do.

Who Took More Steroids?

So who took more steroids... Roger Clemens or his wife? Mr. Clemens claims that he never took Human Growth Hormone steroids, BUT that his wife did. He said he really doesn't know much about steroids but allowed his wife to use them.

Check out this photo. Is this a steroid induced physique? If so, how many shots did she have to take?

So let me get this straight, Roger Clemens never took steroids, but he employed a trainer (Brian McNamee) in such close proximity, that McNamee could inject Mrs. Clemens in the master bedroom of the Clemens' home with steroids? (This according to congressional testimony given today by Clemens and McNamee.) And he never took steriods himself?

BS Rocket.

Hillary Clinton Knows Debasing & Degrading Language

Thursday of this week David Shuster from MSNBC made an off color remark regarding the Clinton campaign and their use of former first-daughter Chelsea Clinton.

Shuster is a biased talking head that doesn't belong "reporting the news." I don't like him and I didn't think his comment was appropriate for a journalist. Add this to the list of proof that he is not a newsman.

The Clinton response is as comical as Shuster calling himself a journalist. Read Hillary's letter to the head of NBC news:

Dear Mr. Capus,

Thank you for your call yesterday. I wanted to send you this note to convey the depth of my feeling about David Shuster's comments.

I know that I am a public figure and that my daughter is playing a public role in my campaign. I am accustomed to criticism, certainly from MSNBC. I know that it goes with the territory.

However, I became Chelsea's mother long before I ran for any office and I will always be a mom first and a public official second.

Nothing justifies the kind of debasing language that David Shuster used and no temporary suspension or half hearted apology is sufficient.

I would urge you to look at the pattern of behavior on your network that seems to repeatedly lead to this sort of degrading language.

There's a lot at stake for our country in this election. Surely, you can do your jobs as journalists and commentators and still keep the discourse civil and appropriate.

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Quite the joke in my opinion. Hillary Clinton is an expert at using and perpetuating debasing and degrading language. Just ask Laura Bush who has sat by in a dignified manner while Clinton called the President of the United States a "liar," "unintelligent" and a "war monger." Ask President Bush's daughters how they feel about the remarks made by a plethora of democrats.

Suck it up Hillary. If you threw your daughter "into the lion's den" (aka pimped her out) of politics in the latest attempt to figure out why you're not running away with the primary race, that was your decision.

Schuster's comment was minor compared to the debasing and degrading words you've used against George W. Bush.

Romney Takes a Bow... Out

Tough day for conservative Americans as Mitt Romney "suspends" his campaign for POTUS leaving John McCain uncontested access to the Republican nomination.

I have a number of thoughts regarding Governor Romney and Mr. McCain... but I want to address today's announcement and the strategy behind it.

Mitt and the team he's put together have the capacity to look beyond today and into the window of tomorrow. Based on the reality facing the Romney campaign I agree with the call to suspend and step back from the day to day grind of the primary battle. Doing so demonstrates the Governor's leadership, and shows he's more interested in America than in himself. He made this very comment... and anyone with the slightest ability to discern the truth knew they had just heard it.

Strategically, Mr. Romney did what Mike Huckabee will eventually have to do, thus beating him to the punch. CPAC was the place to do it too - going out with a bang. (Huckabee will make this same announcement from a Holiday Inn somewhere in DC and know one will care and everyone will say "about time."

Governor Romney can now assume the roll as the Conservative Caretaker of the nation - not just the Republican party - the entire nation.

If the country needs more time to come to grips with his religion - give it to them. If the country needs more time to realize the promises of liberalism are hollow - grant it. Finally, if the Republican party needs another defeat to realize compromise leads to failure - let them lose. Mitt Romney and conservative men and women win on that day.

So with great sadness I watch Romney, an honorable man, do the honorable thing for his political party and make the right call for his future impact on our country.

Huck the Salesman

I've seen some really good sales professionals in my professional career, and I've seen some really slick salesmen. The difference is very transparent and I can spot the latter within minutes of an introduction.

Mike Huckabee is slick, really slick...

The first time Katie and I saw and heard him speak he sounded really sharp. A no-name who came from no-where that actually sounded pretty good. Then Mike Huckabee started to get traction and the slick salesman appeared.

His biting comments toward his opponents quickly flew out of his mouth and still flow this very day - even this very evening. Huckabee is a religious bigot. His attacks on Mitt Romney clearly indicate that he has past judgment of Romney's Mormon faith - quite the anti-Christ action.

Which Party is Right?

There is no doubt that the principles of the democrat party are inconsistant with conservative ideals. I beleive one cannot involve themselves in a party which promotes abortion on demand and seeks to embrace those in need, only to shackle them to a system of welfare based programs that promote lasting dependance without having dirt on their hands.

In the last few days I have heard Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama arguing over President Ronald Reagan. Obama referenced Reagan in some fashion and Clinton pounced on the comment, insinuating that Mr. Reagan was void of any worthy accomplishment. The Clinton's embody the worst of their party and everything that is wrong with American politics... but they are in fact the icons of liberal thought.

Mr. Obama... well Mr. Obama may be a good man, but he is not the right man. Although he is fresh and appears to be very sincere, remember this - sincerity is no test of the truth. Mr. Obama is sincerely WRONG. Wrong on the economy, wrong on national defense, against the right for every child conceived to have the chance to LIVE and wrong on dozens of other issues.

I like Obama. I like a lot of people... but that doesn't mean I want them running our country. I fear the craving for change has some people in this country missing the point of this election - the preservation of the freedoms that make us great. Does our system of government have challenges? Absolutely. We can't know the incredible blessings that come from success without witnessing, and at times experiencing, failure, dispair and poverty. These challenges provide us individual opportunities to contribute personally to the lifting up of others and at times - ourselves.

Ask me - I know. I've lived in beautiful homes and I've lived in a single wide trailer. I dropped out of high school, but later graduated with honors from a major university. I've owned companies and had incredible success - and lost everything... and I'll be on top again.

I thank God that I live in a country where my success depends on my efforts. When I succeed I get the credit - when I fail - I get the blame. Put it all on me and let me go as far as I can, just stay out of my way! This is the essense of the conservative message, the best part of republican party... and dare I say the purpose of the American experiment.

The democrat party platform is the exact opposite. Tax the rich and redistribue the wealth. Use that wealth to enslave those struggling to the government. Use the struggling as a voting base for the party... and repeat the message of dispair every four years. Show me a financially independent democrat and I'll show you someone who would never EVER live the life they promote to economically struggling individuals. Do as we say - not as we do.

Do you desire to acheive all that is possible in your life? Which party stands in your way and which one gets out of your way?

Obama Sounds Black "On Demand"

Well Mr. Obama wins Iowa tonight and moves on to New Hampshire. Good for him, the rest of his party and the entire universe. We all win if Hillary and Bill Clinton are kept from returning to the White House.

Mr. Obama has some unique characteristics that make him attractive to many primary voters. He's fresh, he's young, he doesn't have a record so he's clean and he's black. In fact, I've noticed that Barack actually sounds "black" on demand.

He is the candidate of change. I've watched him do it when he speaks to black audiences, and I've watched him do it when he's really poring on the passion. He changes his dialect and can sound like he's preaching down in Birmingham at the drop of the hat. How genuine is that I ask you?
